Detailed description
Description
The item is an antique style, gilded bronze or cast metal wall mirror, with double candle holders. The frame encompasses an oval-shaped mirror, richly adorned with rosette and acanthus leaf decorations, baroque-rococo ornaments. On the left side, a cherub figure appears, while on the right side, there is a detailed half-winged female figure (probably inspired by art nouveau angel/muse).
The candle holder arms are made with separate, stylized holders, featuring a drip-catching edge. The lower part of the composition is a pierced ornamentation, rich with volutes. The craftsmanship testifies to detailed fine casting, and the surface has a patinated gilding.
Style: historicizing rococo–art nouveau transition (could have been made around the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century).
Material: bronze or cast copper alloy (gilded, patinated).
