Detailed description
Antoine Coysevox Faun playing the flute composition evokes the cheerful, sensual atmosphere of the ancient pastoral world. The twisting posture of the flute-playing faun and the delicate gesture of the instrument emphasize the unity of music and movement. The emphasis is on the plastic shaping of the musculature and the perception of rhythm, not on narrative details. The exhibited bronze can be interpreted as a later, decorative formulation of the Coysevox model.
