Detailed description
Denis Puech bronze sculpture titled La Sirène captures the enticing and dangerous duality of marine mythology. The intertwined relationship of the siren and the human figure does not tell a story but rather depicts a timeless, allegorical state where attraction and subordination coexist. The vertical tension of the composition and the curve of the wings create an elevated, monumental effect. The work was produced in the foundry of F. Barbedienne, representing the high technical and aesthetic standards of the era.
