Detailed description
The Genius of Study is a bronze statue signed and inscribed by Émile Louis Picault. The front-standing, half-naked male figure is guided by a winged genius, holding a balance in his hand, while the backward-facing gesture indicates the direction of reason and learning. The composition consciously builds on academic anatomical precision and classical iconography, characteristic of Picault's award-winning allegorical sculptures. The red marble base and the detailed bronze casting give the work a distinctly representative appearance.
