Detailed description
The bronze statue depicts Roman Emperor Valentinianus I seated on a throne, adorned with military attributes and a pronounced, plastically sculpted posture. At the center of the composition is the calm, controlled representation of power, structured by the constructed throne and the accompanying figurative details. The French language plaque placed on the pedestal is not a signature of the creator, but rather a commercial-representational inscription referring to the quality of execution and the workshop background. The character and workmanship of the statue aligns with the French historicist bronze craftsmanship of the second half of the 19th century.
