Detailed description
The design and decoration system of the three-drawer commode is characteristic of the Central European furniture craftsmanship in the mid-18th century. Its curved front, prominent drawer segmentation, and rich, asymmetric bronze fittings bear the hallmarks of the Rococo style. The drawer fronts are structured with a finely segmented surface treatment and geometric framing, while the plastic decorations applied on the corners and the lower apron provide a strong visual rhythm to the piece, in accordance with the tastes of the time. The overall effect emphasizes the representative function and the craftsmanship quality, which played a defining role in the courtly and bourgeois interiors of the era.
