Detailed description
Richly gilded French bronze mantel clock on a white marble base, featuring an allegorical female figure and a composition of putti, along with accompanying side sculptures. The dynamic, plastic figurative representation and the neobaroque–rococo inspired ornamentation are characteristic of Parisian decorative clock manufacturing in the second half of the 19th century. The work is presumably linked to Albert Carrier-Belleuse and a French bronzier workshop collaborating with him. A representative, large-sized interior piece that is a distinctive example of the period's historicist luxury clocks.
