Detailed description
The bombé ("curved" in French) design of the chest of drawers features a curved front and sides that create a unified, powerful spatial form. This shape originates from the Baroque and Rococo styles, but it was also popular in the furniture industry at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, particularly in France. The front is richly adorned with applied bronze fittings that define the surface through ornamentation based on plant motifs. The bronze elements are prominently featured in the lines of the drawers, as well as at the legs and lower apron, providing a cohesive visual frame to the furniture. The use and mass of the marble top complete the composition, enhancing the furniture's representative appearance.
