PATRONAGE IN A DIFFERENT WAY…

B l o o m i n g l i f e s

Browsing through the publications related to the exhibition of the peaceful years of the last century, interesting lines can be read right at the front. Here is the list of those who deemed the respective program - the exhibition - important, socially worthy, or wished to give prestige to the current program - exhibition.

All this was, simply put, paired with noble recognition via the awarding of gold and silver medals, or with specific amounts of money - for example, 1000 crowns or 800 pengős. It was also often the case that many works were sold even at the opening of the exhibition.

Unfortunately, this tradition has been interrupted over time, but perhaps you, Dear Readers, will agree with me that it is timely to prove that supporting those who work for the betterment of society must be a steadfast common responsibility.

Instead of general philosophizing, let’s see the specifics:

Flipping through the catalog of the FÖLDVÁRY AUCTION HOUSE's art auction on October 26, 2025, the cover immediately reports that significant charitable support is also a highlighted goal of the auction.

The goal is noble as it clearly aims to improve the working conditions of the nursing staff at the PETZ ALADÁR University Teaching Hospital in Győr by creating a NURSE'S REST AREA within the hospital, which is evidently a public-interest initiative worthy of support…

The question arises: How do we support?

Seeing the bare wall of the nurse's rest area in my mind, the thought occurred to me

  1. What if we jointly bought a few paintings for the bare walls?

On one hand, we would bring art into the daily environment of the diligent nurses - who, due to their rotating shifts, seldom get to attend exhibitions in galleries - on the other hand, between moments of their soul-testing healing work, they could pause to glance at the donated paintings…

Now, what kind of painting should we put on the walls?

After some contemplation, I concluded that the work of nurses is nothing more than the preservation and healing of BLOOMING LIFE! I don't think I need to prove this… after all, the HOSPITAL is not coincidentally in all capitals, from the life-giving of newborns to cardiology, it unceasingly performs the demanding task of preserving life 24 hours a day…

Thus, I came to the conclusion that the subject of our COMMON PATRONAGE could be the second artwork of the auction: HOPE OF THE IRIS, a 70 x 100 cm oil painting by artist ISTÓK BERNADETT.

The choice of the painting is perhaps understandable, as how many of us have walked hopefully within the walls of hospitals… How many of us have waited for encouraging words from nurses to put our hope in healing… Perhaps the softness, vibrant colors, and imagined fragrance of this painting can help refresh the souls of the healers on the wall of the break room prepared for nurses…

What can we do for this? The answer is simple, let’s buy this painting. I understand that our intentions and possibilities do not allow us to do everything… Well, let’s unite and collectively bid on the artwork… For my part, I will also participate in this operation, and perhaps we can reach the point where we can buy this selected painting through a joint monetary donation. Exceptionally, not for ourselves, but for others, serving flourishing lives in our community.

Anyone who wishes to join in bidding together may express their intent by offering an amount via the email address provided here until the planned auction begins: ermesprojekt@gmail.com
