In 1871, Bernhard Bloch founded a ceramics factory in Eichwald, Czechoslovakia (at that time in the territory of Bohemia, Czech Republic), and continued under the name B. Bloch & Company. The company was one of the few that continued the production of majolica after World War I. Following the Versailles Treaty, Czechoslovakia was formed from the territories of Germany and the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and as a result, the company was renamed the Eichwald Porcelain and Stove Factory in 1920.
The products of the Eichwald workshop included various utility and decorative items, such as pedestals, pots, and other home decor accessories. These items enriched the decoration of middle-class homes in the 19th century and are now considered collector's rarities due to their artistic value.
