Introducing Móric Góth

Móric Góth (March 2, 1873 – July 11, 1944) was a Hungarian painter who was born in Avasfelsőfalu and died in Amsterdam. He began his studies in Budapest at the painting school of Sándor Bihari and Bertalan Karlovszky, and then continued in Munich and Nagybánya as a student of Simon Hollósy. He lived in Paris between 1906 and 1908, and later worked in Brittany. His art was influenced by naturalism and impressionism, and he often depicted landscapes and portraits. He exhibited his works on several occasions at the Műcsarnok and the National Salon. The painting entitled “Female Half-naked” is an excellent example of Móric Góth’s art, which celebrates the natural beauty and elegance of the female body. The work provides a lasting experience to the viewer through its subtle use of color and sensitive depiction.
