Ernő Abonyi (born Ernő Heiman, Budapest, September 15, 1890 – Budapest, 1941) was a Hungarian painter and graphic artist. He began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest, where he was a student of Károly Ferenczy. He then continued his education in Munich under the guidance of Simon Hollósy, and studied for a year at the Julian Academy in Paris. In 1917, he attended the Free School of Nagybánya. Throughout his career, he worked not only in Budapest but also in Cluj, Timișoara, and Arad. His first exhibition was held in 1914 in Miskolc, showcasing his graphic works, and from 1917, he regularly participated in the exhibitions at the Műcsarnok. One of his works is in the collection of the Hungarian National Gallery.
In Ernő Abonyi's art, everyday life scenes and rural landscapes were often depicted. Among his creations, his painting titled 'Summer in the Great Plain' stands out, which was made using oil on canvas, measuring 56 x 69 cm.
There is still interest in his works today, and several galleries feature his creations in their offerings.
