The work is based on a painting by British painter Edward Ladell (1821–1886), who became famous for his still lifes
He was self-taught and created detailed works often depicting fruits, flowers, glassware, and other objects arranged on a marble slab with an oriental rug as a backdrop.
His works reflect the influence of 17th-century Dutch and Flemish still life painting.
Ladell regularly exhibited at the Royal Academy, the British Institute, and the Society of British Artists at Suffolk Street between 1856 and 1886.
He lived and worked in Colchester, Torquay, and Exeter during his lifetime.
His paintings remain highly sought after by collectors today.
Auction prices for his works vary significantly depending on the size and subject of the painting.
In recent years, Ladell's works have sold for amounts ranging between $25,000 and $98,707.
