Hans K. Neubert
Born: March 4, 1915, in Dresden.
Career and Education:
2 years at the Graphic Arts Teaching and Master School in Leipzig, followed by a 4-year apprenticeship as a lithographer there. Until 1937, he attended the Academy of Art and Graphics in Leipzig under Professors Heroux and Schröder. During the war, he served as a painter and cartographer in the German Wehrmacht in France and North Africa. From 1945 to 1947, he was a lecturer at the Education Centre El Fayid in Egypt.
From 1948, he resided in Hamburg as a freelance artist. In addition to portrait painting, Hans K. Neubert devoted himself primarily to the preservation and care of old paintings. In this field, he is considered an experienced specialist both domestically and abroad, even for the most challenging restorations. His love for the old masters is also reflected in the style of his own works, and his study trips took him to the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, and Italy. Due to their fine and detailed execution, Hans K. Neubert’s works are increasingly attracting attention from collectors and enthusiasts of the old school.
