Detailed description
The 40×60 cm acrylic canvas painting represents the domestic naive landscape painting of the mid-20th century. The scene takes place by a small riverbank in the Great Plain, where the figures of a fishing boy and a resting man bring nature closer to humanity. The painter, exploiting the quick drying properties of acrylic, applied thin yet vibrant layers, enhancing the fresco-like decorative effect of the image. The rhythmic trees of the landscape, the water surface reflecting the bridge, and the simplified forms of the figures together present an allegory of peaceful rural life. Although the identity of the creator is unknown, the painting is technically arranged, emotionally balanced, and fits well into the folk-realist movement of the 1960s and 1970s.
