Detailed description
The 80 × 60 cm oil-on-canvas painting presents a unique combination where female nudity meets winter sports motifs – a rare and eye-catching composition in the market of decorative painting. The central figure has their back to the viewer, moving forward with skis on their shoulders in a snowy mountainous landscape. This perspective creates a dual sensation of movement and introspection: the skis symbolize activity, while the naked body evokes the atmosphere of a contemplative still life-nude. The cool, light tones of the environment – fresh snow, blue sky – contrast with the warm skin tone of the figure, intensifying the visual effect. Based on the theme and execution, the work is presumably from a Central European decorative painter's workshop, dating back to the mid-20th century, where the representation of sports and nude painting intersected. The author is unknown, thus it should be regarded more as a collector's decorative piece rather than a museum rarity.
