Detailed description
Patinated bronze small sculpture, approx. 42 x 16 cm, on a green marble base. A barefoot, short-pants boy stands with his weight slightly on his right leg; he clasps his hands behind his back, his gaze directed down at a frog appearing in front of his feet. The face is gently modeled, melancholic, with wavy hair shaped in dense masses, tied back. The surface is multi-patinated: the skin is a warm golden brown, the pants and the rock are dark, graphite gray-black, the tank top is a vibrant verdigris green, with some wear; this creates a cold-warm contrast and decorative emphasis. Light and shadow are articulated by the silky patina, rounded edges, and deepened folds. The anatomy is stylized but proportionate; the pedestal is a rounded triangular shape, common in decorative bronzes from the 1960s to 1980s. Iconography: childlike curiosity, closeness to nature, garden-sculptural motif (frog). Style: late modern, decorative figuration; likely from the 1960s-1980s, Italian/Iberian or Central European workshop.
