Detailed description

Enikő Kónya is a painter living in Szentendre. She was born in 1961 in Budapest. Her civilian qualification is as a legal specialist engineer.

She began her artistic studies at a painting school in Zugló alongside painter Zsófia Varga, and then completed the painting program at Számalk-Szalézi Vocational and Arts High School, where her teachers were painter Andrea Cecilia Szabó, Nikoletta Kováts, and János Zoltán Kovács.

From her creations, viewers can get to know an extraordinarily experimental artist who boldly reaches for various formulas of image construction. A strong constructive spirit can be felt behind her works, and although it may seem that this could give a kind of closure to her art, in reality, if we detach from the concept and only look at the images themselves, we see that the construction of the visual content is light, soft, and has an almost musical rhythm, just like the works of her predecessors from Szentendre, such as the highly regarded Dezső Korniss and the constructive paintings of Endre Bálint.

She is a member of the National Association of Hungarian Artists. In 2024, she won the main prize of the Ferenc Kóka Inspirational Contest.

Her works are regularly displayed in solo and group exhibitions.
