Detailed description
Kónya Enikő is a painter living in Szentendre. She was born in Budapest in 1961. Her formal education is in legal engineering.
She began her artistic studies at a painting school in Zugló under the painter Varga Zsófia, and then completed the painting program at Számalk-Szalézi Vocational School of Arts, where her teachers were painters Szabó Andrea Cecilia, Kováts Nikoletta, and Kovács János Zoltán.
Viewing her works, one can encounter an exceptionally experimental artist who boldly utilizes various formulas of image construction. A strong spirit of constructivism can be felt behind her works, and although it may seem that this could create a certain closeness in her art, in reality, if we detach from the concept and only look at the paintings themselves, we see that the construction of the pictorial content is light, soft, and has an almost musical rhythm, much like the works of her predecessors from Szentendre, such as the highly regarded Korniss Dezső and the constructivist paintings of Bálint Endre.
She is a member of the National Association of Hungarian Artists. In 2024, she won the Grand Prize of the Kóka Ferenc Inspirational Grant.
Her works regularly appear in solo and group exhibitions.
