Detailed description
Ludvig Dániel (1985, Budapest) is today one of the most exciting figures in the Hungarian contemporary art scene. His art is shaped by moving through the border areas of expressive painting, installation, and performance. His creations are permeated with personal and collective memory, the relationship between technology and human existence.
He studied at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts and has also created art as a scholarship holder in Paris and New York. In his early paintings, he captured the tensions of the inner world through abstract forms and vibrant colors. Later, he created interactive installations incorporating digital tools, where the viewer becomes part of the space and the image.
Major Works and Exhibitions:
"Memory Images" (2016): multi-channel projection and layered mirror surfaces, pieces of the past visible merging into each other.
"Digital Touch" (2019): a VR installation that examines the relationship between the human body and virtual space.
"Flowing Time" (2021): large-scale mixed media canvases where the paint flows symbolize the dissolution of memories.
"Silent Symphony" (2023): a sensor-driven sound installation that composes an acoustic space in response to the viewer's movement.
His works have been showcased by prestigious institutions such as the Ludwig Museum, MODEM, and the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center. He participated in the OFF-Biennale Budapest events, and in 2022 he represented the country at the Hungarian pavilion of the Venice Biennale.
Ludvig Dániel's art is an example of continuous experimentation and crossing boundaries: it is simultaneously provocative and lyrical, personal in tone yet addressing universal questions. His creations invite the recipient to reinterpret their own identity and relationship with technological development.
