Detailed description
The painting is not only beautiful and pleasing to the eye, but it is also well-painted and was undoubtedly made around the middle of the century, as the year inscribed and the physical characteristics match. Such a beautiful work can only be created by a serious painter, and there is only one known with the surname Vén in Hungarian fine arts, Vén Emil. However, we cannot deal with the letter K following the signature, and therefore it cannot be stated unequivocally that this is his work.
If the painting was painted by Vén Emil, then the following is worth knowing about him:
Vén Emil (1902–1984)
Biographical data:
Born: 1902, Técső (Transcarpathia, then Hungary)
Died: 1984, Budapest
Known Hungarian painter and graphic artist.
His Art:
Worked in the spirit of the Nagybánya School and Post-Impressionism.
In his early works, a naturalistic, painterly representation dominates; later he developed a more expressive, individual style.
Around 1930, he was already an active exhibiting artist, painting realistic landscapes, genre scenes, and portraits.
His works often appear at Hungarian auctions, most commonly registered under the name 'Vén Emil'.
Additional Information:
He studied in Budapest, and one of his masters was Gyula Rudnay.
After the war, he also participated in the artistic public life, taught, and created graphics.
