Antal Berkes (March 28, 1874 – October 22, 1937) was a Hungarian painter who is primarily known for his portraits of urban life. He was born and died in Budapes
He completed his studies at the Budapest College of Applied Arts between 1889 and 1894. At the beginning of his career, he painted landscapes, then his interest turned to urban streetscapes, especially scenes from Budapest, Paris and Vienna.
