Albert Ernest Carrier-Belleuse (1824-1887)

Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse presents a close variation of the theme Danseur napolitain. The posture and rhythm of the dancing figure resemble the previous composition, but here the emphasis is on the movement accompanied by the instrument and the playful sense of imbalance. The movement of the head and the gesture of the hand create a more relaxed, improvisational effect. Within the same iconography, the work represents a lighter, more lyrical formulation.
