Detailed description

Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse Harmony (also known as Melody) is a bronze sculpture depicting the allegorical figure of music, holding a lyre in its hand. The instrument appears not as a mere prop, but as an element that defines the rhythm of the composition, in harmony with the body’s tilting motion. The advancing leg and the curve of the arms evoke the continuity of the melody. The work translates the musical experience into visual movement, expressed in a stage-like, elegant formulation.
