Detailed description
A bronze statue pair titled Porte-Étendard, from the workshop of Émile Louis Picault, in identical dimensions and with a uniform pedestal. The two figures were deliberately made as counterparts to each other: despite their differing postures and armaments, their attire, scale, and sculptural solutions are closely coordinated. The emphasis is not on a narrative scene, but on the sculptural quality of the figures, the detailed garments, and the balanced paired composition, which truly comes to life together.
