In the background, greenish, filtered foliage light and columns divide the space; to the right, a strong, diagonal strip of sunlit pavement stretches. The painting is translucent with a velvety surface, and the forms are tied together by soft contours and hazy transitions. The color palette is restrained pastel (rosy, greenish, ochre tones), creating a lyrical, early afternoon mood with light and shadow. The woman's hairstyle and attire, as well as the form of the veranda furniture, support a dating between the 1950s and 1970s. In the lower right corner, the AB monogram can be seen.
