Detailed description
The 28×37 cm ornate table clock is made of gilded brass in the neobaroque style. Next to the mechanism, there is a knight in period attire holding a small bird on his arm, while on the left side, a sighthound figure appears. The richly ornamented base features leaf and pearl-string motifs that evoke the forms of 18th-century baroque and rococo. The clock body has an enamelled dial and the inscription 'Xepa', with the hands designed in perforated wrought iron patterns. The object reflects the historicizing taste of the first half of the 20th century when romantic figurative bronze clocks came back into fashion. Due to its decorative value and material quality, the piece is valuable not only as a functional object but also as a representative interior decoration.
