Detailed description
This multi-figure bronze composition fits into the series of Clodion works with the same theme already presented in the catalog. The motifs alluding to the bacchanalia – the dancing figures, the presence of grapes and child figures – appear in a loose, circularly organized group, emphasizing the continuity of movement and interactions.
The fine surface treatment of the bronze casting and the proportional relationship between the figures reflect the characteristic solutions of Clodion's late 18th-century, Rococo-style sculpture.
