Detailed description

Large mantel clock on a deep red, strongly veined griotte marble base, with gilded corners and surrounding bronze relief inlays. The patinated bronze figure sitting on the pedestal represents Moses in classical iconography, referencing Michelangelo's famous statue: a powerful, triangular composition, the mass of the seated body resting on the left knee, the head with a distinct, radiating beard and small horns, the heavy drapery gently cascading. The front features a red marble-patterned dial with a gilded rim, applied Roman numerals, and two winding apertures.
