Dresden

Large, approximately 80 cm high, lidded Dresden porcelain decorative vase. Baluster body on a stepped base. On both sides of the body, freely formed seated female figures with flower baskets appear, with putti and a heraldic cartouche sitting on the top of the lid. In the main field is a fêtes galantes scene: a pair in 18th-century attire playing music and chatting in a park-like ruin setting; with a garden statue and fluttering putti in the background. The palette is based on soft pastel pink–blue–green tones, with warm ochres and ample gilding.
