Detailed description

Covered Dresden porcelain vase pair, in Rococo revival form. The quadruped, voluted-footed vase stands on a segmented base above an oval body, which is richly adorned with polychrome floral garlands and fruits crowning its shoulder and base. On both sides of the body, delicately painted pastoral-mythological scenes: figures in classicizing garments, with Cupid, and a landscape background. The two-sided, seated putto "ears" and the angels playing around the crown perched at the top of the lid are virtuoso. Pastel green and pink glaze nuances, abundant gold outlines, and gold borders adorn the piece.
