Detailed description

Albert Lebourg was a French Impressionist painter known for his landscapes and cityscapes. He was born in 1849 in Montfort-sur-Risle and showed an early interest in art. He began his studies in Rouen and trained under Gustave Morin. For some time, he lived in Algeria, where he worked as an art teacher and started painting more seriously.

After returning to France, he joined the Impressionist movement and exhibited his works in several exhibitions, including the 1879 and 1880 Impressionist exhibitions. His art focused on capturing light and atmospheric effects, particularly in scenes along the Seine River and the landscapes of Normandy.

His work is characterized by delicate color transitions, a light brushstroke technique, and a meticulous observation of nature. Today, his paintings remain highly regarded and are part of several French and international collections. Albert Lebourg passed away in 1928 in Rouen.
