Detailed description
Antal Jancsek (Budapest, June 5, 1907 – Budapest, April 22, 1985) was a Hungarian painter and graphic artist. He began his artistic studies at the private school of Artúr Podolini-Volkman and later continued at the Budapest Academy of Fine Arts, where he was a student of Oszkár Glatz, Andor Dudits, and János Vaszary.
From 1931, he exhibited regularly, and in 1932, he held a solo exhibition at the National Salon, where he presented his figurative and landscape paintings. His works often included still lifes, portraits, and genre scenes. Some of his creations can also be found in the collection of the Hungarian National Gallery.
Antal Jancsek’s artistic legacy is preserved by his daughter, Adrien Jancsek, who resides in the Netherlands. The management of his estate has been entrusted to the Pintér Gallery.
His works continue to attract interest today, and several galleries feature his paintings in their collections.
