Detailed description

This oil-on-canvas work is a faithful copy of Annibale Carracci's famous Pietà composition. At the center of the painting, Mary sits, holding the body of the crucified Christ in her arms, while two angels provide comfort above them. The delicate facial expressions, the draped clothing, and the play of light and shadow authentically evoke the style of Carracci's art. The purpose of the work was most likely a religious commission, intended as a church reproduction or as decoration for a private home. Although not identical to the original work, this version carries artistic charm and respect for Carracci's legacy. The dimensions of the picture are 70×90 cm, with a proportionally balanced composition, stretched canvas mounted on a wooden frame. It preserves its historical and decorative value as a beautiful example of the Carracci school’s tradition of copying.
