Detailed description

One of the most beloved themes of the art nouveau movement was the allegorical female figure, embodying the symbols of nature, beauty, and renewal. This 62.5 cm tall bronze statue depicts a graceful female figure who energetically extends her arms towards the sky, as if she is an allegory of soaring spring or blooming flowers. Her delicately draped garment follows the lines of her body, while the plant ornamentation adorning the pedestal evokes the organic form language of art nouveau. The marble base provides stability to the dynamic composition, while the sophisticated details of the cast metal figure testify to the high-level casting techniques of the era. Although the creator's name is unknown, stylistically, it is related to the works of the Moreau family, Affortunato Gory, or Émile Picault, who created similar female figure bronzes at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The statue remains a decorative value interior piece, which once could have adorned salons or bourgeois homes.
