Scotte" on the work's base. The finely chiseled, dark patinated bronze body is in a classicizing–romantic interpretation, featuring a powerful representation of movement and carefully crafted anatomical details, while the clock face is discreetly integrated into the composition. Based on the signature and stylistic characteristics, the work can be interpreted as a piece by A. J. Scotte, dated to the second half of the 19th century, and regarded as a representative, artistically demanding mantel clock.
