Detailed description
The presented object is a French Baroque style, historicizing mantel clock, adorned with gilded bronze figurative and floral decorations, as well as a case cover reminiscent of Boulle technique, featuring black ornamentation on a red background. The enameled dial is made with black Roman numerals, in the center richly chiseled with a bronze field, while the lower part is adorned with a plastic application forming an allegorical scene, topped by an angel statue. Based on its execution, iconography, and material use, it can be dated to the second half of the 19th century, crafted as a luxury decoration echoing the representative 18th-century French court clocks.
